Flinder Boyd is a former professional basketball player (10 years in Europe) turned journalist, writer, and producer. He is the founder of The Vertical History magazine.
His articles have appeared in Rolling Stone, Newsweek, and Bleacher Report's B/R Mag among others. He's twice been anthologized in Best American Sports Writing, selected four times in Sports Illustrated's Best Journalism of the Year and been included in multiple year-end best-of lists (USA Today, Deadspin, Think Progress, Longreads.com, SI.com).
On TV, his work has been featured on ABC’s 20/20, Viceland, TVOne, MTV, UK's BT Sport, and the BBC. He is also a former writer and presenter on FS1's docu-series on FoxSports Live, including the Sports Emmy Award-winning Finding Rico Harris, based on his own article The Vanishing Man.
Raised in Los Angeles, he holds degrees from Dartmouth College and Queen Mary University of London, and is a US/UK dual national. He’s currently developing documentaries and writing and producing a 8-part audio documentary series.
